S%u00c3O TOM%u00c983Natural Reserve Ob%u00f4Natural Reserve Ob%u00f4 was established in 2006 with the aim of protecting the rich biodiversity existing in the archipelago of S%u00e3o Tome and Principe. It occupies an area of 295 square kilometers comprising the two main islands. The Obo Natural Park is a wildlife and flora sanctuary where many rare species can be observed, some of which are endangered. The high endemism that exists in the forest of S%u00e3o Tome, and its importance, led to the international scientific community to classify this forest in 1988 as the second most important for biodiversity conservation, among 75 African forests.It%u2019s located in the interior of S%u00e3o Tom%u00e9 and Pr%u00edncipe and is characterized by being a forest with permanent rainfall, which makes the access to some of its extensions difficult. It is an ideal place for contact with the existing biodiversity in the islands.
